What Can I Recycle?

Our guidlines

With the recent and forthcoming changes in the Calgary Recycling Bylaws the question isn’t so much “What Can I Recycle?” as it is “What Goes Where?”. By the end of this year businesses, organizations, and multi-family residential buildings will be required to have three separate programs as part of their overall waste management strategy. Education is a crucial step for the success of any program. Here is what building residents, occupants, and employees need to know:

Organics Recycling

Roll-off bins

Big projects require big solutions. We will contract a roll-off bin to suit your waste disposal needs!

Home injection needles can be disposed of with other garbage if they are in a puncture-resistant container. The City of Calgary also has a Needle Safety Program including public disposal boxes.

Automotive chemicals, batteries, cleaning chemicals, paint, and fluorescent bulbs need to be disposed of properly at a designated City of Calgary drop-off site.

Aerosol cans, propane tanks, and anything else that may be pressurized can also be dropped off at the designated City of Calgary drop-off sites.

MORE INGORMATION

Household electronics can be disposed of with other garbage, but there are also programs in the city to help reduce this kind of waste.
