Teabags = Organics

Tea bags are made of organic materials and can be disposed of with organic waste.
Newspaper = Mixed Recycling

Newspaper is collected in mixed recycling bins and then separated at a sorting facility.
Food Cans = Mixed Recycling
(Blue Bin)
Food cans are also collected in mixed recycling bins and then separated at a sorting facility.
Cereal Bags = Garbage
(Black Bin)
Cereal bags and other crunchy plastic bags are not recyclable. They have to be disposed of in the garbage bin.
Styrofoam = Garbage

Styrofoam is a plastic derivative, but it cannot be recycled like plastic. It has to be disposed of in the garbage bin.
Dirty Paper Plate = Organics

A clean paper plate could be put into mixed recycling, but a dirty plate with food waste cannot. Don’t throw it in the garbage though, it can go in the green organic bin.
Glass Bottles = Mixed Recycling

Glass beverage containers can be saved and brought to the bottle depot. Other glass bottles and jars are collected with mixed recycling and separated at a sorting facility.
Disposable Coffee Cups = Mixed Recycling

The “disposable” part can be deceiving. Empty coffee cups can be recycled in the blue bins with other mixed recycling.
Disposable Diapers = Garbage
(Black Bin)
These are absolutely not recyclable and not organic. The only place for these to go is in the garbage bin.
Bones = Organics

Bones and other food waste are all organic and can be included with organic waste.
